About the Race
Running is like a box of chocolates…. Come run or walk like Forrest Gump, in this chip-timed race. In costume or not, and celebrate the film that inspired many to start running! The Gump Run 5k is a family friendly, chip-timed race accessible to all! Join us for a day of fun on Sunday March 22, 2020.
Registration Cost: $15.00 online ($20.00 on race day)

The Race Course
The race course follows the Little Econ River along the Greenway Trail. The race begins in Blanchard Park near Pavilion 2 and heads west out of the park for 1.55 miles to the turn-around point, before heading back to the starting line. The 3.1 mile course is tree-lined with plenty of shady spots all along the Little Econ river bank. The race course is mostly flat and fully paved with only a couple of slight rises, with the wooden Horseshoe Bridge providing a brief change of running surface.
Race Timing
This race will be chip-timed with dogbone rfid tags on the back of the number bib.
Bib Pickup
Race bibs will be available to pick-up right before the race. Look for the check-in table at Blanchard Park Pavilion #2 beginning at 7:30am
Race Awards
Race medals will be awarded to the following:
Best Overall Men – 1st , 2nd, and 3rd Place
Best Overall Women – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place
Best in each age/sex group – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place (for each gender in each group)
Age Group Categories: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
Race Day Logistics
7:30am – Check-in begins at Pavilion #2
8:30am – 5k race begins.
9:30am – Medals are awarded.
Parking – Parking is available all along the stretch of Blanchard Park.
Restrooms – Restroom facilities are available right next to Pavilion 2.
Share the course – Remember that we will be sharing the park path with non-participants, be courteous and share the course.
Strollers are welcomed.
Dogs on leashes are welcomed.
